Fighters Ministry

FIGHTERS, the acronym for Fibromyalgic Individuals Giving Hope To Everyone’s Restless Souls, is a support and service group of the church for people who suffer from the pain of fibromyalgia.

Our aim is to support each other by sharing coping mechanisms and updates in fibromyalgia care, and to serve our church via care calls, prayer, sending cards to church members such as get well, sympathy, and thinking of you, and monthly projects requested by the Pastoral Staff. We serve our communities by preparing age appropriate goody bags for children in the Emergency Room or who are admitted to Carilion Giles Community Hospital. We give small gifts and occasional extras for residents living at the Elm Tree Group Home, a residential group home for adults with developmental disabilities that offers congregate care for residents with staff on site 24-hours a day. Our motto is FORGETTING SELF – HELPING OTHERS. We meet once a month on the first Thursday of the month at 1:00 pm. Meeting locations sometimes change, so please call Joyce Moser (secretary/treasurer) at 626-7653 if you are interested in attending.
