Hold On and Trust Jesus

Scripture (Deuteronomy 31:8) It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.

(1 John 5:14) And this is the confidence that we have toward Him, that if we ask anything according to His will He hears us.

(Proverbs 3:5-6) Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

When I stop to reflect on 2022, I must start by saying WOW what a journey. It started in February when my Mom was suddenly very sick and had a long stay in the hospital. There were many emotional times that I know God carried me through. He will not leave you or forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:8). On more than one Wednesday night Mom would take a turn for the worse and I would tell the hospital staff that my church family would be meeting to pray, and she would perk up around 7:30 and I would always stop, smile, and say thank you Lord for hearing our cries.

He hears and answers our prayers (1 John 5:14). On April 7, 2022, God answered our prayers somewhat differently than we had hoped for. We are blessed to know she is in Heaven celebrating with Jesus and is no longer in pain and suffering.

During my time at the hospital, I told the staff many times God has a plan, and I am trusting him. As my journey has continued, I have changed my saying to God’s plan is PERFECT and I need to trust him. God has shown me his love so much and I am excited to remember to keep my eyes vertically on God and everything changes in the way we respond to our circumstances around us.

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto our own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). What path does Jesus have for you in 2023? Hold on and trust Jesus!
