All Things Work Together

Scripture: (Romans 8:28) And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

When I retired after 30 years of Nursing, I felt like God wasn’t done with me yet. After consulting with family members and a dear friend and pastor I knew I needed to retire. Gods timing was perfect in so many ways. Soon after retiring we woke up one morning with my husband having a stroke. Thanks to my medical experience I knew exactly what all needed to be done.

As time passed, I pleaded with God to fill my days with serving Him and with an eternal purpose. He answered in unexpected ways, but I knew it was a gift He presented, and I just needed to follow. He prepared a group of very talented ladies to come along beside me and we started a project of sewing for our missionaries. We meet every other week. Then God opened the door with my heavy burden during Covid to host a group of 10 widows who are called The Mighty Widows. We meet every other week to fellowship and study Gods word. I meant to bless them, but I sure have been so blessed with their friendship! Last summer Don and I felt led to start hosting a Home Group for bible study and fellowship. This too has been such a blessing with sharing and truly caring for each other and we also meet every other week.

I have also been able to help medically and physically with neighbors and friends. Time spent helping family members and extended family scattered from MI to FL has been such a privilege and blessing, I am so thankful that God is not finished with RETIRED people. We have work to do until His appointed time when we take our last breath! My prayer is…. Lord help me to finish well.
