Day 26: Seek Me and Find Me

Scripture: Jeremiah 29:12-13 “Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me and I will hear you.  You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.”

In Louisiana, it is common to see king cake at every bakery and grocery store this time of year.  King cake is a colorful cinnamon roll type dessert that has a plastic baby hidden inside.  The baby represents Jesus and the tradition is to bring into remembrance that the wise men followed the prophesized star to find the new born king – Jesus. I love taking the time each year to think about what all the wisemen must have gone through on their search to find Jesus. Whatever hardships they endured along the way, they showed up with praise in their hearts and gifts to give. God provided for them and guided them along their way. We know this because they did find Jesus! Throughout scripture we are called to do the same. Jeremiah 29:12-13 gives us the confidence to know that when we seek the Lord with all of our heart we WILL find Him. God has always been in the business of restoring us to Himself – through salvation and in our everyday situations.
