Day 22: Fear Not

Scripture: (Isaiah 43:1) “But now thus says the Lord, He who created you, O Jacob, He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are Mine.”

Author: Joey Stevers

That wonderful phrase, “fear not” is mentioned 365 times throughout scripture is a model that we strive to go by in these uncertain times. From the events occurring throughout our world such as sickness, poor economy, and war. We can lose focus to our sense of peace and security in God.

In Isaiah 43:1 God is telling Israel that He formed them, created them, and they are all His; have no fear. As they contemplated returning to the promised land, God gave them that reassurance that He is with them, do not fear. These words have resonated through Israel’s difficult times and even throughout today. They relied on His word and their faith, and it would guide them through all they would face ahead.

God has formed and created you as well. Psalm 139:13 says, “For You formed my inward parts; You knitted me together in my mother’s womb.” You may find in times that you get swallowed up in this world and to the created things and not the creator. We can be assured that He’s known us far before we walked on the face of this earth, and He won’t forget us. God redeemed Israel and they trusted Him to fulfill His promise. He has redeemed you through the blood of His son, Jesus Christ and the plans He has for us are far beyond anything we can comprehend.

Here He is today, He is calling you by name, you are His. Take this time to focus on Gods wonderful works in your life, listen to His voice and trust in Him. Know there is nothing to fear with God by your side.

Prayer Prompt:

Heavenly Father, I know I am loved and have been formed by You.  For Your wonderful works are being fulfilled in my life. I pray that when I fear, I can turn to Your Word for peace and comfort. I pray no matter the obstacles and distractions the enemy may throw at me, You are with me. May Your Word resonate through me for Your will to be fulfilled. May I give You honor and glory all the days of my life. Amen
