DAILY DEVOTION: "Believe"

Day 12: Believe

Scripture: (Acts 16:30-31) “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.”

I like this passage in Acts. The Philippian jailer is asking this question to Paul and Silas.

It is a great example that no matter the circumstance, you can be a good witness for the Lord. Earlier, Paul and Silas were beaten with rods and thrown in prison. In prison, Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening. As a result of their witnessing, the Jailer and his whole household were saved.

As we go through the Christmas season and into the New Year, let us ask God to revive us so that our salvation is an image of repentance and faith that everyone around us can see. Remember we are called, and when we accept the gift of salvation it is not simply a one-time prayer. It is easy to become complacent, so pray to God for help and let the Holy Spirit work through you to let your light shine this season and beyond!

(Matthew 5:16): In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
