Day 9: Anxious

Scripture: (Philippians 4:6-7): Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

I am in a new season of life (empty-nester and parenting adult children).  It’s hard to let go and trust that you have instilled everything you could into your children.  As moms, we have a tendency to ask these questions:

What will they eat?

What will they wear?

What job will they get?

How will they manage their finances?

How will they raise “my” grandchildren?

There is a lot of surrendering to the Lord and recognizing that He knows our children’s lives and hearts far better than we do.  To surrender is to understand our helplessness and God’s sufficiency.  To surrender is to pray.

I want to finish well, pressing into Christ, trusting Him for my joy that does not hinge on other people’s choices.

Ask yourself:

Do I truly trust God with every aspect of my life?

What area of my life do I need to surrender?

Do I allow other people’s choices to steal my joy?

Lord, help me to keep Your perspective in mind as I release my adult kids to You and learn to soar myself.  I want the rest of my life to be Your purpose and plan.  Give me the strength to step into Your best for me.  Amen
